one. firefighters aren't sure what -- starred this fire overnight or why the woman in the home died. they did quickly realized they needed to call crime scene detectives. >> when the fire department got here, they believe that an accelerant had been used possibly. any time you have an accelerant along with a body, that's going to be automatically suspicious. >> reporter: the fire started around 12:15 at the home of a retired firefighter. he's out of town his live-in girlfriend is who neighbors and relatives fear may have died. >> they just a retired couple that lived quietly. >> reporter: investigators are not saying this is definitely homicide. even with the possibility of accelerant, they presented this possibility. >> dent mean that the person didn't commit -- doesn't mean that the person didn't commit suicide we've had those cases before, recently we've had one.
